Infinite Actor problem

Postby regine » Mon May 14, 2007 6:29 pm

I have made an Actor infinite, but now i go with the over the actor it will make black stripes(is that right?)?!?!

This problem is in GE, in the game Mode and the Windows Executable.

Im using Windows Vista Ultimate, is that the problem?

Could you be more specific regarding what happens? Windows Vista has been noted to cause problems... (Always smart not to upgrade until a service pack is released when it comes to windows)

I guess it's not supposed to look like that... Before you set it to infinite tile, was the animation set correctly. If it was only one image (not meant to animate) be sure that GE didn't assume it had multiple horiz/vert frames (it does this for some on my sprites).

"but now i go with the over the actor it will make black stripes"

Does this mean it changes when you do something???

you must be more specific about the animations as d-soldier said,
if it is a multi-frame animation it will change as the game goes along(each frame),
but if it is not could you send it to me so I can try and figure out a solution? :D
(you could send it to me anyways if you are still having problem)

Right now (10/14/2009) I'm working on some C++ projects, but I might be able to help if you have some Game Editor questions. :)

fixed

Postby d-soldier » Tue May 15, 2007 3:50 pm

fixed it. Everything seems right inside GE, so I took a look at your image (the grass). For some reason you have a 78x56 pixel image, but bordered by like 640x480 of blank space. For future reference, yes GE does figure out your transparency color for you, but it only needs to be one pixel in the upper-left corner. All that extra space apparently was causing rendering issues when infinately tiled. Use the corrected image I'm attatching.

JPG compression adjusted the pink vlaues slightly, enough to cause your problem. download the zip below and use the .png file. Sorry bout that.
