GE users are blind fools - Use GM!

Talk about making games.

I"m a Newbie here what is GM?

I've been searching the net for Game Editor mainly the 2D Kind and here is what I've found.

Side Scrolling Game Editor - Freeware Project looks like it requires more manual work than Game Editor.

Multi Media Fusion by Clickteam - Many examples of games online very slick looking games, interface a bit hard to get used to.

Game Editor - Just found it and looking forward to trying it out.

And GM? I wouldnt mind looking at that one either.

I was searcing and suddenly found this topic.
I have a great experiece working with GM and I wish to share my opinion with u.

where GM better then GE:
much more friedly interface
many rooms
blending effects
dynamic lighting
particles
3d (now full-supported [models, effects])
multiplayer (even online)
many users and much more examples :?

where GE better than GM:
works MUCH faster
PPC, smartphone, linux (the main advantage)
smaller file sizes
cheaper
in some situations much easier

Talking about speed of creating games: once with GM I made Arcanoid in 0:43 seconds 8) And my friend with GE was making it for about half a month (both from a new project, with no samples, teplates).

Personally, I think this thread should be closed.

We all know by now what the capabilities of each platform are, and if not, this thread has surely given enough insight on both products while at times unnecessarily turning into a flame war.

Everyone has their own taste and likes and dislikes in both products, but it's just like headache medicine - you use what's best for you.

Again, Game Editor has proven itself to be a powerful game development system for the Pocket PC and Smartphone platform, something that is sorely lacking while being affordable. I've discussed other alternatives such as PT-Dev which is unbelievably expensive (development price is per product released!), EDGE which looks like an annual license and is comparatively difficult to use, and Jamagic, which has been considered by many to be a dead platform. As you can see, Game Editor is by far, the easiest and most affordable solution for what is already is able to offer, and what it will in versions to come.

Hello people. This is the Game EDITOR forum. Would people just quit it about GM. If you dont like it WE DO NOT CARE! got it?

GM uses directX anyway, and GE doesn't use anything as far as I know...
Stay sweet

So, here is my example (I still have good eyesight  ).

I've tried several game-engines (I've even done a pretty good part of a job on my game with
the game-maker), but I've decided for the Game-editor. 8)

The greatest problems with the Game-maker is that the game you make demands a lot of resources
and you mostly have to do miracles because your pointer jumps, and it does not go fluently, exe
is too big (load time) and so on... :(

You will start fast with the Game maker, but you won't get far as with GE.

The games made with the Game-editor look better than the ones made with the GM. It speaks
for itself.

I've even worked with a java-engine (it works great), but I don't like it since it is quite
expensive to make exe cca $250 out of jar. Java distribution is OK only for the web or osx games.

The only negative thing with the Game-editor is web or online playing. But I'm not even close
to make some big multi-player games. And with the Game-editor I gained the growing LINUX market, and I could even make a PPC game which is now certainly the most wanted mobile os. The thing is that
the palm now sells its handhelds based on the Windows Os.
