You should be able to just click the "Start!" button.
Unless you mean the "Fang Pictures" logo?

Yeah, I am not getting past the logo from the download and I can't play it from GameJolt as my computer security won't let me.

Guys, when I play your games on GE, I find things to critique on, that is my job in these tournaments, and pretty much the biggest thing I am useful for in GE. Sadly, CrackedP0t has defeated me with this game, as well, I can't find anything wrong with it, as it does its job, it makes me want to keep playing it and beat the score I have. At the same time, it is actual skill-based instead of reaction-based like some high-score games are. I mean there is reaction involved, but strategy is key in this game, such as deciding where to turn, what to upgrade, etc.

Time to go down my rubric on this one:

- Rotation is involved, meets the theme.
- For GE, yes, overall, yes. How many games, especially GE, have stories in them, like as an actual part of the game, not only that, but a story in a high score game that makes sense, and actually leads to a bigger story. Also, the game itself is nice and original too.
- Game definitely has creativity in it, with store and other elements to add to game-play.
- Revolt goes well with the game.
- For me, the music does its job, is in the background, and you know subconsciously that it is there, and is good for the game.
- Sound would be a distraction for sure. Luckily the new rubric gives him points on this subject, as I would actually hate sound with this game.
- The graphics in this game are simple, and believe it or not, that makes them better for this game. You don't want to be distracted by visuals when you are trying to get a high-score, and while I am not saying that bad graphics are key, as that would be a distraction, simple, good graphics are.
- This game is addicting! I want to play it right now, and beat my high score. Also, it is strategical as I mentioned and that makes it feel like I truly earned my high score because I am good at the game, and not just lucky that things went my way. Also, the controls are good to me, especially when I found out space brings up the store.
- Overall, this game is amazing. I have never felt so much respect for a game in my GE tournaments like I do with this one, and I really recommend that if you are making a high-score game in the future, look at what this did to help you on your game.

I wanted to add one more thing, the high-score feature is neat, and the online part is awesome as well, even though I couldn't access it.
The only thing I would like this game to add on is to let you play with a joystick as playing a rotation game with a joystick seems perfect for it.

Thanks for joining my tournament CrackedP0t and making such an amazing game! I am going to show my friends as I really enjoyed it.
If I find anything else, I will post later.

I don't know who else is still in this by the way, but if you are the only one who participates at the end, I just wanted to let you know that this would be a well-deserved win. :D

Hello all, especially NightOfHorror, I would like to submit some suggestions for
the tournament generally, and for the contestants.
Really, the first tournament I noticed on this forum was the january one.
My first thought was: "OMG, how hardcore is that, only 1 month for making a game !?"
You, NightOfHorror, are on the right path, increasing the time a little.
But are 2 months really enough for a game, that deserves the term ?
I think, for most of us, not !
Here are some really experienced people around, they might come up with some
cool stuff even over weekend, while all less practiced ones are having problems
to reach their goal in the 2 months.
And what is a "game" at all ? Just the title screen, a more or less complete first
level, or at least 2 levels, or even a finished one ?
The january contest did show it, there was NOT ONE game submitted, the SABRE and
the Pharaoh's Secret Chamber are under development since months/years, the only
reason to accept them would be to show something done with GE on this forum, a
kind of advert, what the intention of this tournament is (and both did really well
in this context !).
My idea is, to make 2 kinds of tournaments, one for demos, and one for games.
The game-tournament should start at newyear, continuing over the whole year.
Every contestant has a timeline of 6 months, starting with his/her official joining.
That gives every one a good chance, to choose the best fitting half year, and the time,
to present something marvelous.
The shorter tournaments, 1 or 2 months are enough, only for demos.
Your last 2 themes were perfect for demos, showing some special game content, and how
to achieve it with GE.
Another thing is the presentation of the submitted demos/games. Since they are not
only meant as adverts, but also as howtos, you should only accept complete geds with
datas. When I'm wrong on this, please at least make sure, the Windows and Linux files
are both posted.
E.g., I haven't seen lcl's january contribution due to the missing Linux version, and
actually, CrackedP0t's Revolt on Linux only shows the both splash screens, and nothing
more (after the new upload!).
So, don't get annoyed here, just some thoughts I had to share, it's NightOfHorrors
thread, and he will know, how he wants to do it !

Cheers !

It is okay knuckle that you can't join, maybe next month.

Digiot, I appreciate the time you have put in making this suggestion as it brings up good points. Of course, I will have to say my side on why I am doing it the way I do. I don't actually expect full games to come out of this tournament, but I do expect demos as you point at that these games are. My hope is to inspire people into making a demo, and then with it and finishing that demo with a complete game. That is why I have so many tournaments, more themes mean more ideas which means more demos. Also, these deadlines allow people to work to try to think of more efficient ways of making their games to meet this deadline which can help their future times on GE when they now have more efficiency. Also, there is a flaw with your idea. If I give everyone 6 months to do it from when they say they started it, they could be lying. For all I know, they could have started in March and told me they were joining in June so they could have more time, so that is why deadlines are important. Also, these tournaments even the playing field. If you give an experienced GE user more time to make their game then a lesser, they will typically win out as they now have more time to show us what they learned. In 1/2 months, it all comes down to the core of the game, which brings people's ideas and creativity more in to effect, I hope you understand what I am trying to say here.

Now digiot, I love my tournaments, and I think competition would be nice, so if you really want this, you should start a long tournament yourself and see how it works for you. You can even use my rubric. It will just be 2 separate tournaments. I just don't want to open too many tournaments at one time. I already have the yearly championship in January-February, and an anniversary tournament April, plus all the 2 month tournaments throughout the year, so I just don't want to run another type. I will try to keep this in my mind though, and again, thanks for investing your time into this tournament with these suggestions. :)

Btw, since knuckle is not joining, cracked, your only possible opponent is sonic, but I don't know his progress, and btw, I shared your game on fb, the link to it anyway.

@ NightOfHorror : Yes, I understand your motivations, particularly concerning
deadlines/efficiency.
My way of living is, to avoid any pressure, doing things if and when I'm in the mood,
and then I'm a great performer. But if I'm really in stress, I'm performing even better !
My idea for a longer time was, just to get more people taking part in the tournaments.
And a little inequality in the contest you have with both, longer and shorter timeframes,
whenever people are presenting their games, they were working on for a while.
But what's about the presentation with ged + data, or would that scare possible contestants
away ?
Your tournaments are great, any competition in this area would at most lead to a
fragmentation of the small user base here, so keep on with your engagement !

Cheers !

Thanks again for your input. I don't want to force people to put in geds as some don't want to release their code.
