you should develop it further, perhaps faster moving enemies and a larger jump height with smoother wall jumping, then release it on.. IOS? you could make a range of games and release them in one app named retroboy, or something along those lines!

savvy

EDIT: I gave +1 too.

The problem with faster enemies is because of the small screen res., if they were faster you wouldn't be able to react until its too late.
I think changing the height and wall jump wouldn't be good when the game is built around how it works. It's like CastleVania, may be stiff & delayed but the game's built around that, unlike its sequel.
Releasing a range of games for iOS has been an idea I've been carrying around for ages, I really like your idea of releasing them altogether as "Retro Boy". :P Though not as it is because of its screen res, unless theres a way to stretch it to 480x320? I thought of just remaking it to fit the screen- other wise it would look like this!

Heres a few ideas of what it would look like:

Thanks for your ideas and point! =)

EDIT: I found this amusing review of my game: http://axria.tumblr.com/post/2073396368 ... of-my-game

Erm, what happened? Do you remember how you made it up to that point? I'll be sure to fix it once I know.

Dude! I'm digging the star-attack physics. Lot's o' fun.

4-2. Second (I think) pit. I fell through that and went through a boss gate, and then there was this funky water-zone. I stayed there for about 90 seconds and nothing happened, so I had to reset.

That's all I know. From spaceyville to ocean-town, real quick like.

The whole thing is pretty sweet though. Kirby-esque. :)

hey, when will Axria (colored one with gun) be finished? Haven't gotten to play this yet, so I am just going to wait for another. Hey in a good note, I got awarded a student of the month award! :D

Hey, just started playing it tonight. So far pretty good, but the first world was really easy. Both the bosses can be cheaped out if you know what to do.

But oh well, on to world TWOO!!!

@tim Hmmm. I know that the 2-3 Tyranch boss' area is located under that area, though i wasn't able to get there myself. Ill place a bunch of spikes there in a updated version, but that won't be till much later.
Glad you liked the star, i renember someone said they thought it was broken :P

@NightOfHorror No more Axria, cancelled.
...Jokes :P
Whenever I'm ready really, If you read this post it better explains whats going on at the moment: http://axria.tumblr.com/post/2091382604 ... e-11-04-12

@NextToi Well its meant to be easy at first to lure people in. I don't get how some found the first stage hard

Well you did that.

World 1: That's it?

World 2: Well that was mildly annoying

World 3: $)#@ YOU AND YOUR SPIKE TRAPS!

My experience in a nutshell. Still trying to get down the timing on those spikes.

Agree completely. And also:

I just wanted to mention that level 4-3 was evil, a superb use of the evil level design. It's been done before but I thought it was just really evil. And it was just really evil >:(. I was thinking that is was going to be the evil, because of how EVIL it was. D:

Lol. Okay... just kidding.

But seriously dude. Do you know how many times you got me killed here? What with the snail, and the spikes, and the jumping on the snail, and the not hitting the spikes, and the game overs..... Finally beat it. Totally worth it.

Respect!

@NextToy Maybe it was a bit tough. Have you tried going left on 3-1?

@tim4 Haha, evil. You made it! Good job, +1.

I did but I reached a dead end. Although now that I think about it 3-1 DID have a lot of fake walls in it...

brb, replaying.

Oops. Theres a pit looking thing you go down, but the sign it was safe are the background tiles. I should make it more clear in the re release.

Yeah. If I wasn't an overly curious person then I wouldn't of gone down there since the bottom tiles blend in with all the others.

@JL: Dude. Just checked out your other topic from Dec. 2011 on Axria. Very nice.

I've been half-heartedly messing around with game design for a few years now, making all kinds of garbage and learning lots of cool computer stuff. But I don't think I ever put so much heart and soul into a project like you obviously have been with Axria. Looks really nice, and Axria Retro is a very challenging experience in gameplay as well.

Just wanted to say good luck, sir. You certainly have something there. :D
