I'm with an open bit at rentacoder.com waiting for developers.
Game Editor is an open source game creator software that's wants to pay it's developers to keep evolving.

Hey, makslane... Long time, no hear.

I hope you've made some headway in getting Game Editor exportable to iPhone, and/or Game Editor ported to Mac.

The iPhone development scene is booming, but Objective-C is a real pain in the neck.

The only other game development platforms are Unity, Shiva, and iTorque. The rest are game development libraries, such as EDGELIB, Oolong, Cocos2D, and XGDK.

Coming out are StormBASIC and GameSalad, both are promising good alternative paths to game development, but no timeframe to releases as of yet.

So, if you still have a chance to break forth and come out with Game Editor for iPhone, you can really position yourself well in the market and get paid as much as the current iPhone developers are. Let me know and keep in touch!

Good to hear you again, welcome back :-)
The iPhone development weas started by a developer at rentacoder.com
The schedule to finith is two months.
My idea is make possible the creation of iPhone games without need a Mac (Windows to iPhone export).

This is this best thing about it too, i know ive said it like 5 times but nothing else in the world will let you do windows to iPhone export. So many people want this. Cuz not everyone has a mac :D

I don't know if a Windows-to-iPhone port will be possible, since final app files need to be code-signed. The whole development process is really tied into and around Apple's Mac OS, from installing Certificates in the Keychain for Xcode to sign the application for devices that have been provisioned for development, etc.

How realistic is the two month schedule? What do you have in store for the first release? Will it include multitouch and accelerometer support?

If you can pick up a cheap Hackintoshable computer (I suggest a $200-250 Dell Mini 9/Vostro A90, which is fully compatible to Mac OS X 10.5.7) and hook it up to an external monitor for 1024x768 output, you may be able to see what it's like to develop on the Mac platform, and see what issues may arise, especially if you're contemplating trying to bypass a Mac to develop for the iPhone (which I believe is unlikely). If anything, the resulting exported code should be files that can be compiled and signed in Xcode, to which it can then be installed and tested on the iPhone.

Let me know if you need any assistance, as I would be happy to help (you know how I love betas!).

I am in the beginning stages of developing a new game, and I'm torn between GameSalad, Unity, and iTorque. With the additional possibility of Game Editor for the iPhone (considering your timeframe of a release) with which I have a good background with already, I don't know if I should start programming again in my current version of Game Editor.

Please advise. Thanks.

The two month schedule depends of the rentacoder developer deliver the code in this schedule.
The only doubt I have in the process is if is possible get a way to sign the iPhone app, with the developers certificate, in a non Mac machine (like you can sign a app with standard verisign certificates, for example).

If is not possible, We have a problem!

Can your rentacoder developer create XCode source files that can be signed and compiled, or is he going straight for a compiled binary to be thrown directly on the iPhone? I'm doing searches on the latter and this is the closest I can come up with:

http://www.stonetrip.com/shiva/publish- ... phone.html

The game development kit ShiVa creates an exported pack file, to which you need this Mac-based utility that will add a Bundle Identifier and a Code Signing Identity and compile it for submission to the App Store.

Game Editor may have to come up with a similar concept.
