How to make your own animation

Postby He360 » Fri Nov 07, 2008 3:49 am

I was wondering how do I make my own animations. I used Microsoft paint to create some frames (for instance a character walking), but now I'm trying to find out how to make them animate in the game that I'm trying to make.

If I understand, you have set up the frames, and now have an image that is several frames long. If this is true, the next step is to add an animation to the actor that you want, and put the picture in. It will allow you to pick how many horizontal frames or vertical frames. Pick the right amount for the picture and it should animate. You can select the fps from there. After adding more animations to an actor, you can use the game editor functions to change the animations.

in the most cases GE will animate your frames automatically.
if frame stripes won't work, you can also create multiple files, each file being one frame.
then you put those into the same folder and name them like:
char1
char2
char3 etc.
GE will recognize them if you select the "multiple files" option.
