NETWORK CHAT

Postby Rux » Wed Jun 17, 2009 11:24 pm

Hello, today i've got a program called Network Chat. Using this you can chat with people over your network!
This program is still a beta and more features are going to be added in future updates. Everything you need to know is in a Read Me file with the download. Not in a network? Thats fine, you can talk to yourself and check out the program too. That is explained in the read me. Enjoy, and lots of feedback please! :D

Ha, I already got version 1.1 finished.

CHANGES

- Now can tell whether other chatter is online or offline by grey box around offliner's
chat box.

-Every time the other person sends a message, a woman's voice will tell you. (Not my voice  , its a text-to-speech voice)

-Fixed glitch where you can still overwrite a room, when your not supposed to.

as you can see, Im constantly updating it. Everytime I miss something in an update, I make a new version.
(I'll keep up 3 at a time, then delete the old ones)

Version 1.2
----------------
- Tweaked the responded voice, to fail less.

i used ur idea of saving the variable that the game reads from in the share folder of a network. and took it a little further. i made one game save its actor (A) x and y possition and load actor (B) x and y
while another game was loading actor (A) x and y positon and saving (B). both games read from the same variable. i was opening one game on my computer and my friend was opening the other game on my laptop. and there u have it :) a multiplayer game where u cant see the other screen :) basically a game over the internet but only in your network. added a few guns and we was shooting at each other for a while. :)

i sujest if you guys have another computer at home u try making a game like this. very fun and somthing i hadnt done before
