Netero's Last Stand (Hunter x Hunter mini game)

Postby Rebenely » Fri May 30, 2014 6:40 pm

Netero's Last Stand is the first game which I actually finished( I can still update though).
Based on Hunter x Hunter 2011's battle between Netero and Meruem.

Using the keys z,x,c to move Netero's 100-Type Guanyin(the big gold aura)
you'll keep Meruem (the green guy) away from Netero (player).

Thanks to DBGames' fade out tutorial and monsterbrain's series of ordinary demos
Sounds are from Hunter x Hunter 2011 ep 125 and 126.
Graphics are made by me.
I'm open for healthy criticism and changes in the game.

That's an epic game! :D
My best score so far is 21.

You have done well with the game. But there's always room for improvement in games, and here's some suggestions.

- Limit the time you can hold one of the.. umm... arms (? ) extended.
- Currently the retry option is accessible by clicking the text actor which says "Retry". This is not a good way of doing it because people will have to aim the pixels of the characters, and that's just annoying. What you want to do is to place a Filled Region actor on above the text actor, and add the restarting code to that actors mouse button up event. And why mouse button up? Well, that's because everything on a computer works and thus people are used to that and it feels more natural. Whenever something happens immediately when you put the mouse button down, it feels a little awkward.
- You could make the enemy attacks random.

If you need help with any of those, just ask.

The game is well made and I wasn't able to find any bugs. Congratulations! :)

Thanks for the suggestions!
I'll probably try those things, but I'll be sure to change the retry button.

Cool game! My best score is 36. Btw are guanyin sprites purposely bad? If you simply don't have the skills, I'd like to help you with the graphics.
