The forum's teamwork

Postby Kalladdolf » Thu Oct 25, 2007 5:59 pm

I came up with another actually weird idea.
how about makslane thinking of a game, say us guys in the forum what to do, we prepare a masterpiece for 'im (if we have the time), he sells the game and each of the ones who activly worked on it get a free copy of the game???
Like makslane sais: "Here's the game story and what it should be like, Bee-ant, Kalladdolf, u do the sprites and the music, Fuzzy and tekdino do the coding, automail, Rux and supa-tails do this'n that...."

How about that?
or something similar

I would certainly work on this!
I make sprites, music and coding!
I am all good at =3
Except I cannot make good music for games, only like acid, techno and electronic.

Brilliant idea! :D

It's a good way to market Game Editor plus it sounds like fun. I'd love to see what Makslane says about it.

Eh and I'd like to participate as well. I'm a programmer but I do way too much programming already. It's my job so I don't think I'll help in that department. However, I am an aspiring writer. So... I'll help with any text related development. Such as story, text that the user have to read and such things. That's if it's alright with you guys.

Make a team work is always a good idea, but besides coders and designers, the project needs a marketing guy too.
Game Editor is an open source game creator software that's wants to pay it's developers to keep evolving.
If you like Game Editor, make a review!

I guess he means the one who takes care about advertising and selling the game. :)
Is there something I could make for the teamwork project?

Well, u could do some marketing then :D
Or all of us can!
Make the finished game popular all over the internet and writing about it in many different forums.

actually, we don't have a plan yet.

1. first we'll have to think of the game type and the characters
2. then we must think of a reasonable game story and tell somerbody to make good sprites for it
3. we also need text that sounds good
4. then think of the game design, the menu design, and other stuff and tell someone to do the sprites for that
5. how many levels
6. choose who will be doing the character and landscape sprites
7. based on the levels and the menu find a person to make the music
8. put everything together and write a code (we'll also need some guys for that)

correct me if any of this is wrong :D

Almost the same:

1. I think one group should think about the story and make it as good as possible. Also we should define will it be rpg, platform etc.

2. A team designs how the levels should be and what kind of enemies, gameplay etc.

3. A team makes all the graphics.

4. A team puts all the graphics and ideas together with coding with help of beta tester team. (or we can all be beta testers also)
