Splash Screen Demonstration

Postby pyrometal » Tue Feb 10, 2009 5:06 am

Hello everyone! Decided to post a little something for you guys to look at! I made a splash screen which I will be using in the game I am currently develloping. This was unfortunately not made in GE... I made this using the allegro graphics library and C (I hope you don't mind Makslane...). I just wanted to inspire you guys to try and make splash screens for yourselves, it shows pride and professionalism in your game! Mine is very simple and can easily be reproduced in GE, this is why I though it wouldn't be a bad idea to post this.

Note that I am currently trying to become a pixel artist to back my programming skills with clean visual presentation. This game will run in 8-bit, 320x240res, fullscreen mode once completed, since I'm a fan of retro.

One last note, please tell me if it works or not, and if not, tell me what the error is! It is also possible that your graphics card cannot handle this fullscreen resolution, therefore I will post a windowed version if people need/want it.

It crashes, complaining about the dll.

My monitor is set to 1920x1600 and may not like 320x240.

Did you unzip it? (Most likely)

Here, try the windowed version:

Thanks. that worked well. Looks good.

I guess that tells you something. A lot of modern displays will not handle 320x240 in full screen.

I will work to get this working in "double pixel" mode then, in order to use 640x480 instead. Thanks for the feedback!
