Hey everyone,
I have been reading about and studying game design theories and methods for about 4 years now, and have even done some artwork for a small game company a friend of mine from my college swim team and I started. One of the main problems getting our game company off the ground is that our programmer can't fully commit to any of our projects with his busy schedule, so I wanted to find a program that will allow someone like me (graphic design/art/architecture/3D modeling background) to get into the "under the hood" parts of the game designs we've conceptualized and actually allow all the concept documents on my computer to become something workable.
Anyway, I just wanted to say "hello." I've been on the site for a few weeks but haven't had the time to actually do too much yet. I'm also developing my architecture thesis, which will also be on game design and how some of its more conceptual topics can be used in architecture, so that's taking up a lot of my time. I have some contacts at Valve and Bethesda Softworks with architectural backgrounds and they say that it's looking pretty good.
Sorry to be so wordy, but long story short: hello! I look forward to learning this program and maybe speaking/working with you guys on games. If you want to see samples of my game art, head to tipher.deviantart.com
