Project in development : Galactic Guns

Hi folks.

Today, I want you to introduce my upcoming space side-scroll shooter named Pulsar (the name can be changed before release). All ships graphics are done by my friend Farmer_TED, miscleanous graphics as shots, HUD, fonts, etc. are made by me. All the GE work is done by myself.

PULSAR will be 2D space shooter with pre-rendered 3D graphics. The basic concept is similar to the Space Impact game known from Nokia cell phones, but there is weapon system very similar to Chicken Invaders and the gameplay would be influenced by 'old-school' game Zybex. Of course, there will be a lot of new features made by ourselves (mostly by me to be exact :) ).

Beta version of this game won 4th place in Stormmill's PocketPC Game Development Contest, but currently it is under major re-construction because of commercial release. Practicaly all the code and user interface are being changed to improve gameplay.

Progress:
Graphics: 85%
GE scripting: 30%
Sounds: 40%
Music: 0%

Time to complete: 2-3 weeks.

There's no demo now. If everything goes well (== if I'm not lazy ;) ), a little demo will be ready in one week or so.

As you can see, the 'Sound progress' fell down 'cause of some crapy sound that caused unstability of the game. But the code work is going well and should be done in a few days.

Few things:

Firstly, the ship graphic has NOT changed. The ship on the last screenshot is just not upgraded. The one on the first screenshot in this discussion is fully upgraded. That's it.

Secondly, I'VE MADE THE HUD :) My friend has done only the ship graphics and now he's working on intro and outro pictures. HUD, backgrounds, and everything else is MY work. About the HUD... actually I kinda copied the design from the game HALO that I played a week ago

Thirdly, I'm not much satisfied with the graphics. Because I did the background and my friend did the ships, they're quite unconsistent.

I use 3D Studio Max for 3D pre-rendered graphics (backgrounds, projectiles, etc.) and Corel Photo-paint for 2D graphics.
