More Power to the Game Editor Community

Postby makslane » Sat Jun 13, 2009 11:42 am

I want to give to the Game Editor community more power and control over the whole site.
For this, I want to unify the look of the main site, forum, wiki and development site.
My idea to give more control is transform the main site in a wiki, so, every user here can edit the site.
Even better if we can put a blog for each user like the Wordpress (http://wordpress.org)

What We have:

Main site: http://game-editor.com (made with: static html files, sith few dynamic contents to show the demo)
Forum: http://game-editor.com/forum (made with: http://phpbb.com)
Wiki: http://game-editor.com/wiki (made with: http://mediawiki.org)
Development site: http://code.game-editor.com (made with: http://trac.edgewall.org)

I'm trying to find templates thats cover the phpBB and Mediawiki, but if We have a good template for the mediawiki, I think will be a good start to replace the main site.
The only think is put all contents of the main site in the wiki!

That's why IP banning is a useful tool!

Generally it is a good idea as long as we're able to control ourselves.

The moderators can do what I do now in the forum: delete abusive posts and ban bad users!
The point is the most users here doesn't post bad or random things ob the forum.

Another way, is give write access only to the trusted users, may be, based on the score.

You could have an area that anyone could write to, and after review by the moderators, it gets moved to a more permanent place where only more trusted people can edit.

Or you could have it to where when someone writes something, it has to be approved by you or something.
