~A (Sort-of) Good Bye~

Postby jimmynewguy » Fri Mar 26, 2010 12:32 pm

~To anyone who cares~ :)
Uhhhhh My Computer decided it would be cool to lose alllllll of my GE files, so i pretty much have none of anything i've ever worked on left. So I'm really POed and probably won't even touch GE for a loooooong while. (I was sneaky recently so you didnt hear much from me) Nice seeing you and being here with all you wonderful people~Jimmy

To put this in more detail-I have about 4/30 of my FOLDERS not files...and i'd like to describe the situation (incase smart-er computer people know wth happened[so if you dont get computers reading on might just scare you :P] it'll be numbered cuuuuz idk just looks nice)

1) My comp was taking for ever to log on
2) I unplugged the wireless adapter (aka internet gogo machine) because it alllllways slows the comp down and it worked
3) I had changed the name of my account recently from "Nicky" to "Mac Daddy"....ya
4) All mystuff on my desktop was gone but i realized it was in the "Nicky" folder still So i moved it to the "Mac Daddy" folder
5) I logged off and logged back on later and now the account is "Nicky" Again and alllll my stuff was under "Mac Daddy" (which happens to not exist anymore) so everything is just gone. I did a search of all files (even hidden) and 1 folder called old projects was still under nicky and its the only one i have left.

makes no sense right? My dad told me im just making this up, but i saw what happend with my own two eyes.
Working on a probably too ambitious project! Wild-west-adventure-RPG-shooter-thing.

Next time, set up one of those online folder things. theres one I know of but I forgot what it was called >.> What ever you put in the internet folder, it is stored safely online. So if your computer takes a dump again, you can save the files :D

You mean something like MediaFire? I did that for all the dats of O.S Jolty. Uploaded it to MediaFire folders and there it is, stored safely.

Ok its better to store your files on a CD. Mr jolteon media fire is not safe sometimes they go through system cleaning and people get thier vstuff wiped out. Jimmy if you uploaded your GEDs here on game editor you can recover your stuff.

I have all my stuff on an external harddrive personally. Well, sorry about your loss Jimmy.

Did you tried any program which can recover lost data? :)
