I have not used GE but find it very interesting because I am a C programmer and love the fact that GE uses C as a scripting language.
Anyway, I have read on this forum that GE 1.5 includes physics, rotation and scaling. Yipee!
Can we also have a particles engine? Allow an actor to have particle parameters attached to it.
I love games where a sprite leaves a trailing effect behind it or those wacky shmups with particles flying everywhere!
