There is always a drought of members here, of course it happens more lately, but occasionally we have sparks of random new people. If people choose to leave, then that is their choice, especially after they insult everyone here.

Hmm, last time I checked this topic wasn't locked for you, so you could look at it and see what we said, and last time I checked, you were not calm, and now that you are, we would love to have you back, just not yelling at users and accusing us of only being in GE for money. There is much simpler ways to make money than making games, such as doing chores, mowing lawns, babysitting, etc...

There may be a few reasons as to why people are leaving.

Firstly, although GE is a a great tool, it is a very limited one. It appears, at first glance, to be intended for making primarily side scrolling platform games or basic games. Yet, the programming language used is C, which is MUCH more tedious and unproductive than the more high-level languages like Ruby. So what users get is a tool that makes simple games using slightly less productive and more complex programming. Most people would prefer to have it the other way around.

There are also a few bugs in GE that need to be ironed out, particularly the stability issues (GE tends to crash very often in my experience). While it really is an awesome tool, it's not optimized for productivity. What it does provide (and it does this well) is a basic set of tools that requires users to learn how to code productively and develop their programming skills because it doesn't oversimplify things. After a developer learns the ropes and feels confident of moving on to more advanced concepts, he may leave GE behind. This is an expected part of the way people work. Once they learn the basics, they feel the need to use the most productive tools with minimal restrictions. In this way, although GE may not be the optimal game development tool, it is an important stepping stone in the path to developing advanced games.

I think games for the windows is not a great idea to sell because people likes to play on their iphones and ipads. maybe still the mac.
All my games for the pc and mac will be for free but I'm selling for the iphone and ipad. (Now why did I bring that up non-related to this topic )

@bamby1983 I agree. we really need to show people all GE funtions. and yes we will all go on to another game creaton program, but we have to show everyone that this is a great program to start off with, I think our target audience is kids, adults go onto really advance programs like unity.

Ahh i would prefer game posting control. I posted really really useless game, and it keeps take place at the general demo-games page in the site. What a shame
