tutorial problems

hey everyone, so I just found this site/program and it looks great! unfortunately I have NO experience at all with any kinds of programming. I've been watching all the "getting started" tutorials but the later half of them end up not working because about half way through all of them an error pops up that apparently the tutorial didn't plan for. basically after the error pops up the tutorial keeps playing but nothing happens because the message is still up. does anyone know of some good basic tutorials that will work?
