need a compiler

hey everyone. sorry I havn't been around lately, for those of you who might remember me. so, here's the news.


I am going to be taking a course this year on C programming, but in order to do so I'll need a good free C compiler. however, the book I'm using does not tell me any good compilers to use. could someone recommend any compilers?

and by the way, once my programming skills improve, I believe I'll make a return to GE and finally make a game. I think I might finally have a solid idea for a game, which I lacked back in the days while I was here.

so if anyone knows a good free Windows Vista compatible compiler, please let me know.

Pelles C compiler is a standard text based compiler . Its free and its industrial strenght , meaning you can make sellable games and apps with it.

thank you very much. however I can't quite figure this program out. for one thing, every time I try and make a new project, it seems to think I'm trying to add a file to a previous project. also the compile button became unavailable right after I compiled the first program. in addition to that, I can't run the program I compiled via command prompt. it would be nice if I had a few basic instructions on how to use this compiler.
