need help making guy shoot both ways

i just started making this game and my guy can only shoot one way, so when hes looking to the right the bullet comes out of his back. someone please help in a way i can understand. thanks

Do you know yet how to use variables? If yes, you can make a variable which says from where the bullet should come.
