Iphone pipeline question very important

Postby krenisis » Tue Jul 06, 2010 5:15 pm

For those who dont have an account with apple to release games is there going to be an iphone pipeline so we could upload our game to the itunes store. I was thinking of a model like where Makslane and Adr have developer status and collect 20% of the profits for the game that we release. That way we dont have to pay and Makslane and Adr get some money upfront. At 1499 not to many people have that type of money upfront. This is a smart idea and should get heavy consideration. This will benefit all of us and its a win , win situation.

I have thought about this, but I'm not sure how to make this work.
For example, I have an Apple account.

If you give a game to sell using my account, how you will know how many copies are sold? You have just my word!
Another problem, is Your name will not be show as a publisher.
Game Editor is an open source game creator software that's wants to pay it's developers to keep evolving.
If you like Game Editor, make a review!

Ok as far as being known as publisher , nothing is perfect. As far as sales reports of course I would ask you to print the sales report once every 2 weeks so I would know. As far as worring about you stiffing me, Iam not worried at all , its not a trust issue, I have other means to find out or cause choas so Iam goood. I have a windows PC so Iam hoping your giving this your most serious though. There is alot to gain on both sides.

I don't think it's a great idea for Makslane to do that. There is lots of legality involved, especially when many people here are still kids. Even if they trust makslane, their parents could sue him for this and that, up the road.

If Mak wanted to start a professional game brokering service he could, but perhaps it is best that he focuses on Game Editor itself. However, it's possible that we may see someone else start a professional game brokering firm, with legal coverage and professional report/account setups.

I imagine we'll see a lot of new members joining in the near future.

If u look at Vamp Halloween Crisis, it seems that this idea works. I did the same with Chai except the app is for free. Because its a light version.
Regarding sales, one could get the appstore sales reports forwarded. This is a reliable base of payment.

If u are interested, send me your UUID of your iphone and I will provide u geplayer. Then you dont need a mac at all.

If u are interrested in new features of apple or android ge engines check the engine support website game-editor.net regulary.

Ok

1) I dont have an iphone or ipod because I want to make sure this works before I start investing heavy money. I brought the Game Editor for $100 dollars and cannot get my game into the windows mobile marketplace. Iam not going to spend money until I see one of our games on the iphone marketplace.

2) Sorry if I seem rash but Iam in a rush to get going because I spent alot of time developing windows mobile games and it seems I took a lost. Iam hoping that the iphone port will be my salvation. Do I need an iphone or does ipod work the same way?

3) Even after this is done we should still have a pipeline for games for those who are going through a little money trouble. All parties will benefit.

How much time is alot? Most programmers have to work for years before they can release successful games. Years means 4 or more.

Also, it's not a loss if you 1. enjoyed doing it and 2. learned things that will help you in the future.
