I have very limited time at present to play around with Game Editor so I have decided to release this for all members of the forum. I can later in the year release all source code if anyone is interested when I have more time.

GloBall - Around the World Challenge

Free full WINDOWS version - 68 levels

It was originally written for the Pocket PC - hence its window size and low quality graphics and sound, and is sold on clickgamer.com


I plan to release this as freeware in the near future - I cant alter the game play as I have no time, but if you have any bugs or glitches let me know - thanks.

When you install, it will place a icon on your desktop to play the game.

Have fun with it - it takes a while to get used to the controls in windows, but I am sure you can master it.

It will be interesting how far you can go in survival mode with 10 life’s.

Wow cool! i seen this in the buy games section and i was like "I want to make a game like that!" But i never got to trying. i would have bought it if i had a credit card or something. i haven't played it yet but I'm downloading it now

I have re-uploaded the original small screen game in my message above.
Also I have included a full screen version - the graphics are blocky but playable as the game was intended to be played on the Pocket PC originally.

excellent and consistent game you made !

I gave it a try this afternoon and found myself hooked in it for more than an hour.

- Why wanting to release it as freeware ? Because having no more time to maintain it ?


I'm quite eager to read about experiences from commercial releases, as I try
to estimate the worth of jumping in and investing myself with a friend in a
serious project.



If you ever release the sources, will be glad to learn from your craft.

I started the project more as a bit of fun rather than make money - I then got carried away and it took me about 6 months on and off to complete. I have sold less than 100 copies and it did not pay for the amount of work that was involved. I only placed it on one web site (clickgamer.com) and did not advertise widely so this may be one reason for poor sales.

- Why wanting to release it as freeware ? Because having no more time to maintain it ?

I just do not have the time at present - But I hope one day I will be back making another game.

If you are thinking of going commercial, make sure you do not spend a lot of money at first in developing the game graphics and sound (Globall game cost to produce was my time and the cost of Game Editor, all sound and graphics was free) - do a quick prototype of the game idea, and see if it could be developed into something that you want to keep playing.

It is often the simplest game that does well. Know what Game Editor is good at doing and try to fit the game around this to avoid to many complicated scripts.
