Interesting... I've heard of those deaths....
It's so nasty. I think we should all be aware of this, cause maybe we're not playing that many video games, we might be making the games very frequently.
I'm aware I don't get into this situation, and pay attention to just how much time I spend with my activities.
I warn all of you GE forumists to also be careful with your daily time-schedule.

i think the reason for that is because it has become a dependancy for the person

which could have been developing since they were as young as 4
( which at that age would have a huge influential impact on their psychological structure )

I disagree with most of this...
mainly the part about games lowering intelegence and grades... Not true
me and all my friends play games more than frequently, but we all have strait as or close too it!
I think this only becomes a problem when they start not eating (and especially not showering )

Addiction is something that may not be harmful when you're still at yourself, you still do what others want you to do. From then on, what you do in your free-time simply depends on you, and spend it as you want to. The addiction gets bad when you do this free-time activity not only in free-time, but when you'd otherwise supposed to be doing other duties...
That's what we're talking about, that's dangerous, and that easily does all things people have been talking about.

i have recorded on my wii on one day i got over 14 hours in,
and i wasn't addicted i was just bored that day, plus i'd been working all week

I did that when Smash Bros. Brawl came out: 14 hours and 3 minutes. The guys I lived with last year actually do fit the profile of someone who is addicted though. They would choose video games over going out.
