Help with registration and RPN string

Postby SanDiego1 » Wed Feb 22, 2006 1:48 pm

I completed my game and am trying to figure out how to put the registration code in it. I read through all the posts about registration/rpn strings but am still very confused. I understand what the RPN string is and how to create one. However, I don't understand whether a code needs to be added to my game and, if so, what code should be added. So here are my questions:

1. If I plan to sell my game on Handango, PocketGear, etc., do I need to put any codes into my game and, if so, what codes or do I just give Handango, etc. the RPN string I develop.

2. If I want to sell the game on my own, what code do I use and how do I add this to the game.

Thank you so much in advance!

Thank you for your reply. I read these before posting, but I'm still confused. It seems BeyondtheTech's post, which is:

http://www.beyondthetech.com/downloads/ ... %201.1.zip

would be helpful. However, I was unable to open the .ged file to look at the coding. I get getting error messages that it could not find certain .png & .ttf files.

I would appreciate help on this. I see there was another post from a few months back asking the same questions as me, but that one wasn't answered.

Thank you.

Also, BeyondtheTech's link:

http://www.beyondthetech.com/downloads/ ... %201.1.zip

also doesn't open. Thank you to him for providing these rpn modules. It seems as if that is what I need. Unfortunately, I cann't open them. Again, there seems to be missing .png, etc. files.

Thanks again!

Makslane & BeyondtheTech and everyone else:

I found the registration module BeyondtheTech so generously provided. It was tucked away in another thread. Here it is:

RPN_Registration_Module_1.8.zip

It is a tremendous help! I haven't implemented it in my game but I don't think it will be a problem. Many thanks to BeyondtheTech and also thanks to Makslane. One word of caution. The module created by BeyondtheTech will only work on the newest version of GE - 1.3.4.

Good luck!

My link didn't work. The registration module is in this thread:

The RPN_Registration_Module_1.8 will work in version 1.3.3 and above of Game Editor. Because that's what i used to update the rpn module to version 1.8

Here's a direct link to the file.
RPN_Registration_Module_1.8.zip

If you run into any problems with it, post back in this thread and I'll try and help.

Thank you for the information. When I tried to open it, I got an error message that read: "This game requires the newest Game Editor version." I just assumed it was 1.3.4. because that's the newest.
