Fireworks demo

Postby Novice » Fri Jan 13, 2006 6:12 pm

Get it at the demos page. It simulates firework explosions using paricles and color change, so every firework is different. Coding is not complex so everybody with a little experience should understand it (sorry for not putting coments in the script ). Frame rate can go down if you launch to many rockets at once.
Please let me know if you like it.

I really loved your FireWorks Demo!

It's a terrific example of how to script particles and the results are stunningly realistic!

It also demonstrates how scripted animations can drastically affect performance with too any particles on the screen at the same time.

I think it would really kill a handheld or smartphone.

Has anyone tried it on a device?

BTW, I'd really like to see more particle effects demos. I have a game that coud use some particles to simulate explosion debris.

Do you have anything like that or can I use the fireworks demo?

Anyway, thanks so much for posting that demo.

Thanks, you can use any part of the demo.
You are right about it not being good for pocket pc. It slows down the performance to much. Take a look at the shark demo by jazz e bob it shows how to make good explosions that do not slow down the performance but still look good. Il make another demo soon.
