Does Game Editor have the capability of importing data from a .dat file that I've created?

Thanks, I was going to make a PDA Chip's Challenge engine, but since Game Editor can't read from Chips.dat, there's no use using it when I"m already well versed in Game Maker...

*uninstalls Game Editor and reinstalls Game Maker*
