First real big project and I need an artist on-board

Postby NERDnotGEEK » Thu Sep 29, 2011 9:45 pm

Okay so I have an idea for a game, I have sounds given to me by a friend, all free to use and they give a perfect feel for this game. I feel I'm at a level to comfortably code this game without any problem. but like always I still cant draw. Im looking for an artist that will want to work on this project side by side with me.

This game is going to all be based on feel. scary and immersive.
I have yet to decide if I am going to be making it a sidescroller or top down, I have got a full plan for both possiblitys of the game so really it comes down to personal preference for the artist. Do you prefer to draw sidescroller games or top down?

The game itself is mostly based in an alien rainforest. so that means you'll have to be able to draw real dense scenes with lots going on. and detailed backdrops. logs fallen down trees. ect.

If you choose to work with me to make this game I promise you it will be a game we will both be very proud of :) any more detail needed just ask. I hope to find someone on this forum who will want to get this going :)

The idea really interests me but I'm way too busy with BoxByte. But! I have a link for you for inspiration: http://www.frictionalgames.com/site/fiend
Back before FritionalGames was the king of first person atmospheric horror, they made a small 2D topdown game called Fiend, I still remember the game to this day and how even though it was 2d with simple graphics it still scared the shit out of me lol. It's free to download.

Would you be dedicated to it once you start? I don't want you to start then find something else to do as another artist may not be able to carry on your style of drawing.

Would you be more comfortable with top down or side scroller?

Lots and large. That's why I tried to get the point across that I'm looking for someone to work with me.
