experiencing frame rate slow down? (even with only 1 actor)

Postby stevenp » Wed Feb 13, 2008 1:27 am

is anyone else experiencing frame rate slow down at random times?

is it just me or are other ppl experiencing this?

GE is fine at 30 FPS but at 60 FPS the game slows down to 30 FPS every 3 seconds ( for 1 second )

btw before ppl start bashing me about my computer possibly being "slow", heres my computer specs

3 gigahurt processor
3 gigs of ram ( gold OCZ)
160 (x2) 7200-rpm harddrive, ( with raid zero)
nvidia geforce 8800 series 512 videocard GTS
windos xp
virus free
no background programs running

btw, that is not really how fast you computer goes. What are the Front Side Bus speed of your Processor? What is your memory speed? a FSB at 600Mghz is good, and so for the memory speed.

Which version of GE are you using?

Also, when it slows down, how long does it last? Is it almost like a stutter or does it slow down for a few seconds or even minutes?

good point goth, well i downloaded the GE demo last month, so im sure i have the most recent one, 1.3.9 or 1.9.3 or whatever it is

when it slows down, its only for 1 or 2 seconds, and seems like the frame rate is slowing down by 50% or so

( all the tests had only 1 actor on the screen, using a path ( 2 second duration) moving in a small circle )

mojo domo, can you try using an actor with animation and no paths?

What code are you using to check the framerate?
