Sonic.EXE (VERSION 666 NOW AVAILABLE!)

Talk about making games.

Sonic.EXE (VERSION 666 NOW AVAILABLE!)

Postby CrimsonTheDarkBat » Tue Aug 07, 2012 12:59 am

Over 1 million collective downloads to date.

This is the big one - Sonic.EXE Version 666 is the biggest update to the game since its release! Re-written from scratch on an entirely new engine with better graphics, audio quality, re-imagined sequences, system-wide stability fixes and more - this is the definitive Sonic.EXE experience!

There are many new things to discover in the game. While some may be apparent, others require a little digging. Word to the wise: EXPLORE. Return to previous areas of each stage after you've had a look around - who knows what might have popped up during your absence?

=====================================================

Alright, since no one else seems to have bothered doing this, I'm going to.
In short, I've recreated Sonic.EXE - given the creepy tale some life at last as a true .EXE file

For those who don't know about the creepypasta in question: http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Sonic.exe

This is not for the faint of heart. And if you're smart - play it in the dark. You know you want to. Or else, he'll come for you.~

The game took about 3 days to whip up, and is not a full representation of my programming ability - it was simply something I made for a laugh. I never expected it to come this far since the original release. Bear that in mind. As I've now moved onto using alternative technologies, I'll still keep this thread updated with any new itteration of the game that are released - but sadly, I've moved on from GE for the most part. Mainly due to compatibility with what I'm learning in Uni. But GE will always be important to me as my first real forray into the Indie Developer scene.

I know right? Still, I'm bored and not in the mood to dev Sonic: Velocity right now. So, something quick like this'll be easy to make and keep me sharp. :P

COOL!
I'll never be brave enough to play it... xD
But I want to get to try it, it sounds so cool!
Has someone done a game with this idea before?

When I get to play it and get scared, so scared my souls slips away from my body my mindless body will come and eat this topic, then you, Crimson and finally...

Heh, should be a bit psychotic alright. :P There've been many in the past who said they'd make a game about this, but none have ever actually succeded - yours truly here'll be the first that'll surface. :D I'm just starting the last scene "Hide and Seek" with Tails, just to give you an example of what I've done and what I've yet to.

WANT THIS. It sounds fun! I'm very messed up in the head, so I would probably just find it fun, like DOOM 3 which I recently purchased on steam, very funny game to play!

No the zombies in castle town when you turn into Adult Link... They haunted me in my nightmares. Granted I was like 5 years old back then.

It's done - Sonic.EXE is ALIVE~! xD

The game is ready for release and will be up online in the next day or two.

Please bear in mind, this isn't a serious effort - it was merely something I conjoured up to pass the time and to take a break from deving Sonic Velocity. ;)

That said, it should be pretty chilling to play - especially in the dark. >: D
