Suggestion against useless spamming...

There should be someone who's qualified to know if a thread is a useless spam and if a user is just a spam machine to block these and to delete spam post. I don't know about you, but this sure does annoy me seeing those thread coming in the forum and dirty it. Couldn't there be someone in charge of removing these annoying messages, since they are more harmfull than anything? Shouldn't be hard finding someone who's often enough here with good judgement. But of course, anyone is free to think this is ridiculous as an idea.

No problem. Sky and myself are moderators and can delete. Just point us to the spam and we will delete.

Sure, there are a bunch in the general topic, just look for topics that speak about random stuff useless to GE. Spam in GE forum is almost daily now.
We need someone who can go on and delete the post by themselves, and can remove spam within 48 hour because beyond that, It's harder to find it I'll agree.
I'd propose myself to do it, but I'm not sure if makslane wants more people or not moderating around.

Yeah... the spamming since new year has increased to 10 or so spam accounts a day... I do exactly what you are talking about, but I've been pretty busy during the day, so I usually don't check until now, but when I do I always delete all of them, as I do look at every post. I've tried to have makslane create filters, since as you say they are quite predictable, but to no avail. It might help if we could ban email types, but only admins can see email.

Spammers have started to send posts like:
I love this website, thanks for your work, etc.
And in end of this kind of posts there's always some advertisement links...

Like I've said, they are quite obvious, the only problem is that I'm not around half of the day. We'll see if we can get makslane to appoint Game A Gogo as a mod as well, as he seems to be around when I am not.

Well that's mostly what moderating is. Occasionally there are reports of other natures, but 95% of it is dealing with spam accounts.

These forums used to be so low key and peaceful, and we never had issues like spamming before... i miss the old days of GE
