Super Bandit Simulator 2D

Postby leswigmore » Thu Jan 06, 2011 4:29 am

Hi Game Editor fans. this is my first ever post, so if i goof, then please forgive me. attached should be a demo of my game Super Bandit Simulator 2D.
I wrote this a year or so ago, and have decided to see what Game Editor fans think of it, before i put in the final touches.

Why 2D? the filename is 2D becouse i have designed the game in 3D which was really awsome. I loved the outcome so much that i decided to make one for my GP2X and my old trusty Compaq Windows Palm.

i also have this running on a Gizmondo. took a while to work out, but its all fully working on the Giz now.

Game Editor V1.4 breaks the touch screen on the GP2X if i remember correctly, and I will recompile on the old iteration of Game Editor if touch suport is not good for you.

Instructions: space to insert a credit, and return to spin reels. or you can click the money slot and click the arm to spin reels. very simple and the game has a good bonus feature.

You can change skins as in screenshots and the game will save off a skin file, so that when re run it will display your favourite skin.

Nice work. I like the graphics too! ;) Can you tell me how did you made the graphics?

It looks like som 3D programs right? Or did you just downloaded the sprite sheets from some website? ;)

By the way, good game for first try!
Just one detail. :P Next time put some higher resolutions. It's very hard to click and read the text when its so small

i am back again, as promised, thanks very much for the coments, exactly what i was looking for.

Resolutions? try downsizing to 640x480 this will make it bigger, either that or spec savers is a good one. lol.

seriously though, this obviously can be put in full screen mode.
it is for mobile handhelds: 320x240. and looks great on all my systems mentioned above.

The graphics were all hand drawn from scratch on photoshop and promotion (cosmigo) promotion being like deluxe paint 4 on amiga. i am a aged programmer since 1981.
also a trained graphic designer. ill add a couple of shots to melt your appatite. my spelling is rubish so please ignore the mistakes if any.

thanks again for the great coments. :)

enjoy the show.

see how i make the shapes in 3ds max on the shopping pics below. then i physically hand draw all the detail
on to the objects. i did not wrap any textures around these objects, draw with mouse in photoshop. i thank you all. lol

This knife was a toy my son had, so i copied the shape only, and then drew all the bits onto it.

More examples: ill speak laters guys, been trying to upload for ages.
now bath time...

Hi as said before this game was written for small handheld consoles. not windows. if it was 3D then this would not matter because of the scaling advantages.

here is another verison, in full screen. 320x240. im not going to re design it in full screen. the consoles couldnt handle it. as framerates are lost even at this size in GE. this is somthing that needs looking at, it should be 60 fps all the time, but it drops to an acceptable 45 fps. hope this is all understandable. i will do a bigger resolution game one day. with a bit more time on my hands.
