I would suggest just to learn basic controls, with game editor, and if there are other things you need help with just ask the people on game-editor. I'm sure you'll get some responce's eventually.

Also if you havent taken the tutorials yet, then you should. It helps alot.

If you are new to GE (or scripting in general) an RPG may be a bold first step. Given that in an RPG you have the freedom to do and go wherever/whatever in whatever order, the amount of scripting and variables would be pretty intense. This endeavor may be better suited once you have a few more basic games under your belt and a better understanding of the GE processes.

They game you guys should probably make (and don't think I'm forcing you) is a side-scrolling or top-down shooter. Just a simple one, because basic shooters use most of the common elements of GE (GameEditor incase you guys don't know yet) and will introduce you to variables. C YA!
