41000 vs 22000 hrtz and stereo vs mono

what is the benifit of lowering your sound settings to 22000 and mono?

in the game properties menu?

If the target device have a native 22000 Hz audio system, no convertion will be needed in real time from 44KHz to 22KHz.
So, the sound engine will take less resources to execute.

If the sound is stereo, the engine have to process 2 audio streams instead only one in mono.

i convert all of my sounds to 22000 hrtz, 8 bit, and mono having GE set to anything higher would just be wasting resources right?
