Hey all,

Since its my birthday today I decided its time to make my first release of my super secret RPG game, which of course is not such a secret anymore. :D This is something I started a few months ago. I was close to giving up in the early stages of development but with the support and enthusiasm of my girlfriend I kept working on it.

So I present to the world some enticing pictures for now. I have the menus almost finished but of course to do the menus I had to develop all the backend sytems. :)

Features:

Classic 4 way RPG movement.
Chat system.
Inventory system
    -Adds to the item count if you already have the item.
    -Can equip selected items.
    -Can drop selected items with auto sort after.
    -Can give items to others in your party.
    -Can view more into on a selected item.
Equipment system.
    -Works for the whole party.
    -Equipped items will affect character stats.
    -Can get hp bonus, atk bonus etc. from certain items.
Status display to show all character main details.
Skills menu to upgrade your characters primary and secondary stats.

A NPC sprite and chat code.

Background graphic for inventory menu.
Map edge based movement.

As you will see by the ChangeLog a RPG game is no simple task. However, I do plan to keep working on this and eventually finishing it. 8)

Thats the least of my concerns right now! xD

Graphics for the map are extremely temporary. I plan to have new tiles/graphics done for the game areas either by myself or someone else. :D

I have put links to download and try what I have done so far, enjoy! :D

Controls:
    Arrows are for movement in game and in the menu.
    M is to bring up and close the menu.
    Spacebar is the action button for everything in the menus.
    You can use left and right arrows to navigate between the characters on Equipment and Skills menu.


Feedback is appreciated and especially if you find a bug. :)

Im looking for someone rather creative out there. At the moment im doing abilities and stuff but its difficult to think about it and this is really slowing down progress. Im spending lots of time thinking and less time doing.

It would be awesome if someone could think of abilities for me and then I can just implement it quickly in the code. "Whats in it for me?" you ask. Well anyone who steps up for this task will get a slice of the profits when this goes on sale. :)

EDIT: At the moment progress is alright and I can do this but its gonna take a long time. I have to do abilities for 8 character classes and each one will have 5 passive and 5 active abilities.

Got all abilities done for the 3 main characters a while back. However, since then I got a full-time software development job. I recently started working on this again (like 20 minutes on the bus ride home) xD

So I will try to work over the weekends on this and get the next release out. The next release is almost ready but I need to do the saving/loading functionality, which is not a small task. :mrgreen:
