Collision of Knockback between player and monsters

Postby ShingingDB » Sun Jun 03, 2007 3:37 am

How do I make it so that when the player runs into a monster, he get knocked back a few cm in the game from all directions.

Then how do I make it so that, when the player presses an attack button, the player attacks the monster. The monster will then get knocked back a few cm, and take damage.

Extra: To those who doesnt mind me asking too much, heres another thing. How do I make it so that the monster gets a set amount of HP. After the player attacks the monster a few times, the monster will die when the HP has reached 0.

EVEN MORE EXTRA: To those who doesnt really really mind, how do I make it so that when the player attacks the monster, the player will attack the monster with a different amount of damage. The amount of damage will increase as the player levels.

Lets start simple here... All you need to do is use physical responses. Under your PLAYER's controls, add a collision effect (on any side/of monster)/add action/physical response/set to event actor only/and play with the numbers here for the desired effect.
For attacking, you will use the same type of physical response/collision effect based on your bullet (didnt say how you were planning on attacking) As far as hitpoints and damage go, the search feature of the forum reveals:
