Postby mraellis » Wed Jun 20, 2007 9:14 am

how many FULL games have been made with this GE and has anyone ever made a RPG?

Is this even capable of Rpgs??

p.s I don't care about demo's, everyone makes them and never finishs the game on every game making tool around.

there are at least 15.
I do not think anybody has ever reached the maximum GE can Do.
but some of the simplest games can be the most fun. :D
quite a few people liked stickman jumper.
StickManJumper is a simple game where you jump through a level, very fast gameplay. :D

here is the link:
...
just look in the Demo forum for stickman jumper... I waited 5 literal minutes and the page would not load.... *is mad at internet*

(it is just one level, one BIG level.)

Right now (10/14/2009) I'm working on some C++ projects, but I might be able to help if you have some Game Editor questions. :)

It's not like you are investing in the license for the Quake IV engine here... Last time I checked the demo version had no limitations other then the watermark, so invest the time to figure out what GE can do... I mean seriously, it's a 2D game creation tool that incorporates not only normal game events, but also allows for scripting, which limits you only to your programming skills... Seems like you have a whole lot of expectations for twenty bucks, and your critical attitude/comments regarding people's projects is getting really old, really fast.

Yeah, you can do RPGs with it. (if you mean stuff like Dink Smallwood)
I can't die, I already tried

moi critical? it's called expectations for money, I've brought other game making tools in the past to see that they where rubbish and don't really plan on making that a trend. sorry if i seem to have offended anyone but i only wanted some proof of what i may buy is like, like game reviews do for console games etc.

lol i know its not a quake engine lol , I'm perfectly fine with 2d mate, my fave ever game is legend of zelda a link to the past. pretty sure that wasn't made with the quake engine.... :P

i am checking out the software asap so i will post what i think, and what's dink small wood?

p.s i didn't really post negative about peoples projects i just hate how so many people on game making tools always start something cool and then drop it and from what i can see its mostly the same here so i was more saying people should finish what they start.

After three or four straight weeks of spending your own time making your own game, you make a demo, and move on to something else. It's about experience... If these people were getting a paycheck each month for the work, more games would probably have full versions... I have your answer though, to keep you from getting ripped off in the future, go by a programming language, then you can only blame yourself when things don't work out. And Zelda could (with the proper time and patience) be made in GE.
