Here are some more pointers for you:

1) The ships are too big and take up too much space. If they were smaller, the game wouldn't look as cluttered.

2) The background is a little bright. It makes the player focus on it more than the ships. A simple fix would be to darken it in gale or gimp :wink:

Another thing that could work would be changing the transparency of the background. (If the screen color is black.) That way, you don't have to change the image.

If the backgrounds are too busy, I could change them a bit. :)
