Okay, first off, thanks for the responses.
Most of these problems I was aware of but didn't feel like (or didn't know how) to fix:
1) You don't have controls on the elevator lift deal because you could otherwise walk off it and that causes problems with the view (this is just temporary, I'll fix that later). Also, I was experiencing some odd glitches with collisions on the lift that I didn't know how to fix, so I just covered it up for now.
2) It is actually possible to walk through most of the walls if you hold down two keys at that same time and do some other stuff- this is, as you said, probably a problem the program has with collisions on multiple sides. To be safe, just make sure you let go of the current key (left and right keys) before pressing another one, at least until I get around to fixing that.
3) The animation doesn't keep up with shooting and what not perfectly, but I think it is decent enough- mostly it has problems when lots of stuff is happening
4) The arrow keys do drain your health in different increments- I just had that in there for testing purposes and forgot to take it out- probably should have put that on less natural keys, like the semicolon key- so people wouldn't accidentally press it.
Anyway, the level isn't done. I plan on having a sort of tropical kind of theme in the beginning, with the volcano inactive.
Then you will enter a facility (probably ending up being some sort of geothermal facility or something) which will have alarms and security cannons etc.
After fighting a mini boss and exiting the base (during which time the volcano will erupt) you will traverse a barren, hostile enviroment with falling lava, lava flows, fire, burning trees, more enemies, and an eventual boss fight.
I'm pretty busy with school and stuff now, but I expect to update the game in about a week or so- adding more of the level, a mini boss, more to the facility and good stuff like that
