I'm troubled....
i stayed up all night trying to figure out what to do..
It's like this:
i don't feel appriciated, i don't really think any post i've made has ever done anything at all or even mattered.
i think the 21 points i have are from pity, i don't think i even matter being here....
i've posted many things, but i know nobody ever learned anything from them.
i think i might even leave the program to invalidate on my desktop...
none of the games i've made are of any use..
theres two options out of this.....
> quit and continue my useless life
> stay and continue to make

i have made friends, and i thank them for what they all gave me:
>Game A Gogo

>Dillodude
>feral
>asmodeus
>DST

>and Azou

i fear this might be the last topic i ever post....
Please prove me wrong.

Hey there, don't leave us! Seriously! I think the forum is just not big enough and that's why we all feel that way, I do to, most of my posts also go unoticed, and same with many other users here... I'm afraid the forum is dying right now. The community of active users has been seeming to shrink ever since I joined... I hope we don't go instinct, cuz that would really suck. Courage! Post for your own sake, this way you know you're contributing, even though you hear nothing... You can always post your games at other places too! If you leave, where will you go? There aren't too many forums as free as this one on the web! Consider that. Anyway, it's all your choice, but I personally want you to stay of course!

Take care and ttyl

diormeh, you got no idea how frustrated I been times like these when I wrote something VERY IMPORTANT the one evening and waited until the next morning dreaming of a bunch of nice replies and the next morning my name was still on the board index?! I've often considered quitting, but nevertheless the GE forums are worth staying at! There is something happening every once in a while. Don't give it up completely! Stay in touch with us =) Please do! I think we've all felt the way you are sometimes.
And btw, there's no such thing as a pointless life.

diormeh/darkparadox,

i hope you find out that the reason to do anything is for yourself and your own satisfaction. i hope you realize that the forum points are useless. i hope you realize that it is easier to get condemnation than it is to get praise. getting either is also not a reflection of you or your work; they are just opinions from the people who take time to comment. the internet has a lot of information. people look and move on. it's very rare for someone to reply to anything (even the most popular blogs on the internet only get a tiny tiny ratio of comments to views). so don't take it so personally when you don't get a lot of positive feedback. you have to find it in yourself to do it for your own reasons.

there is only so much you can control. if you like writing games, do it. if you like writing tutorials or demos, do it. if you like waiting for other people to write nice compliments and praise...well, you just can't do anything to make people do that, unfortunately.

and the forum does seem to be getting smaller. the number of new posts (which are not back and forth jibes and banter) have really dropped off. look at the wiki. how many people actually participated in the wiki? how many new updates have there been in the past few weeks?

:!: :!: plz dont leave!!!
leaving now only shows your not up for the challenge....
i left for a while only to realize how much fun it was and that i was up to the challenge of trying to make something usefull
i still dont understand as much as you do and i have been here longer than you, your games are amazing, and your examples have helped me so much(besides the ones that im to stupid to understand[like half of them])
so please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please stay :D :) :D :) :D :) :D :) :D :P
if you leave that dwindles the GE population but not just a user, but one very smart CONTRIBUTER

ps: please stay!

this topic explains what most of us are thinking or feeling, so heres what i have to say ( and yes im still alive lol )

reasons why GE "seems" to be "dying"

(1)
we have all become close friends with eachother, so we use things like MSN, and other instant chatting programs
essentialy, this hurts the GE community, because it splits up everyone into small groups, ( and not using the fourms )

(2)
we need a new ( and online ) version of GE, i dont even think i need to explain how much of a boost that would give the fourms ( keep in mind all 3 of my games are in stand by mode for the launch of online GE

those are the most ovious, and significant reasons but heres an idea, i dono if this would be possible but make a "voice chat room" on the fourms, where we can actualy talk to eachother

I agree about the fragmentation of the user base.

I don't know, maybe for some people, voice chat or something might be good...

But would it even compare to seeing at least one feature request (doesn't even matter which one at this point) resolved in a new release of GE? How long has 1.3.9 been out with no update? Lot's of questions like "would you like to be able to develop for X platform?" But, to quote a cranky old lady from an old commercial, "where's the beef?"

I think I feel the same way here to... I not being of purpose on the forum. All I do is post demos that I just create, but no one seems to care. Well, considering my main template has 101 downloads... maybe that could be a different story. But I don't particularly feel "active" on the forum. I know that people around here seem nice... so it's natural to want to stay (blaugh... I looked at other forums on the internet, and you just can't find anything that suit's Game Editor's). Still, if I were to be active and social on the forum, what would I do? I have no idea on code improvement (not much of a programmer -- just a designer). All I could do is help beginners to get started with the ged. (And I hope I'm not conflicting with other templates posted on this site.)
This forum is a great forum. It seems so much of a community... a voluntary and place where people have a good time together. Heh... some posts are funny as well. Hehehe... Especially the one about school (A very Horrible Horrible HORRIBLES announcement!!!!!!!!!!) :D
Well, I guess that is just something to say. My post here was probably pointless too...
