Ge forum project: scribblenauts

Talk about making games.

Ge forum project: scribblenauts

Postby Fojam » Tue Dec 15, 2009 12:24 am

Okay, I just played scribblenauts, and I have to say that it is awesome.

so, here is my idea. I think, because we have a small forum, we all work together to make a Ge scribblenauts

I will be happy to try to make a bunch of sprites for the game, and my plan is to try to make a scribblenauts that is even more fun and has more words than the DS version.

How about it?

I have some sprites right here from Spriter's Resource

here are the files from that site: http://www.mediafire.com/?0itzym12yd

A great idea, the only thing is that most of the people on this forum are already working on their own things, so you should first make a demo, to prove that it is worth trying.
--> For my help, i ask for a simple +1 if it helps! ^-^
--> I dont code, I type art which you dont understand.
--> I keep winning the 3D model challenge at college, teacher says: "you keep winning im not giving you prizes".

Well, that is kind of the problem. I said I would be a spriter for it, because I am good at basic code, but not at the complex code like scribblenauts

I'm not. Well, I have like 3-4 projects on the way right now, but I don't have enought time to make them all, so I'm a little bit confused.. :D And my only game making "work" is thinking of the world for the game in the night.
If you will start to make something, I will help you. (well, atleast I will try to, cause you all know i'm not the best programer.. not even the good one  )

I have actually thought of this before, and if a lot of people worked on it we could probably pull it off.
If more people help, and I actually decide to stay on the forum this time ( ) sounds like a good idea to me. I'm in.

The game plot is as follows:
You must collect starites, they are hidden in the level somewhere.
You, as a scribblenaut, must use the notepad to type anything (ANYTHING) and use it to get the starite from where it is.
And that's basically the whole game.

But there is a LOT of things use can use. I battled ninjas with a dinosaur. I pitted a Hydra against a Dragon. I made and anonymous army all eat shortcakes. Anything not copywrited or proper nouns (besides the creaters of the game) are in there somewhere. It's great amounts of fun.

I just recently played it with a friend. It's quite a lot of fun, but I don't think we should remake it, because we won't make it better or anything and to have more words than they do? Check this page

wow, it took like an hour for the page to load!

if everyone on this forum works on this, it'd be probably the coolest GE game ever made.
