better than paint

Hey guyes i need some help. I want a program that is better than paint like the pixels are smaller and i can do more stuff. Also i wuld like it to be free or have a free demo i could download.

any ideas, i would really like to have a better graphics program for my pc
by the way i am using windows not linux

Use paint.net (free) or Jasc photoshop (not free).


Maybe he means with smaller pixel that you can zoom more?

the best for making pixel art is "pro motion" by cosmigo !
it's a software used by severals company than making games for mobiles phones, GBA, nintendo ds...etc

the gimp is free and is probably the closest program to photoshop ever made(that is the idea of the gimp, to make an open source program almost identical to photoshop)
