Well I don't know how newbie I count. I've got some programing/3d experience... I pretty much understood the concepts of GE right away. (Prooves the great job of Makslane). I like your pics, though let me give you a hint, when making these models: These modeling functions always make perfectly smooth forms. Smooth tubes (like what you make the hands and fingers with) But, of course nothing is that pur-fect in reality. Now I don't know the function in anim8or, but in Blender, which I use, a function called fractal, which adds a little randomness to the location of the vertices. Though as I said, I don't know about anything in anim8or.
But don't get discuraged at the beginning, my father always tells me: Practice makes perfect. You have practiced 2d drawing, so you make awsome pictures. Practive 3d modeling, and you'll get good at that. If you get tired of it, then take a little brake, to clear your mind, maybe take a nap(sleep). Then continue with a fresh, creative mind, and you'll make cool stuff! Good Luck with 3d!
