Trojan virus?

OK im a little weirded out, on my computer i use malwarebytes antimalware and norton(just for good measure)
Recently ive been working on a game named Legend of raiyoko, ive been exporting early versions to let friends test on early machines for different glitches,
just recently i exported my game (to a windows exe of course) and when i tried to run it nortons sonar detected it as a threat, with threat level Very High, it also said that im one of the very first users to download this file (of course i didnt download it) but my concern isnt that, my concern is that if another person downloads my game and there norton alerts them to the same thing, then theres going to be rumors going around that my games are viruses
thats the last thing i need.
Ive tried looking through my code for open sequences and random unused lines of code, ive cleaned up everything, and still, it gets detected.
Its quite annoying so if anyones got a quick fix, please let me know.

where do you host your files?

What do you mean by "host" if you mean where i upload them, its either here or at multiupload.com, if you mean in my computer i just dropped GE into my program files directory.

I don't trust multiupload... those pop-ups on that site are strange and annoying, I suggest media-fire: http://www.mediafire.com or dropbox: http://www.dropbox.com if you want to host a file. Drop can allow you simply drop a file in a folder on your computer to upload files, it's the best versatile hosting program

Sometimes trojan virus can hook up on a download if a computer is already infected, the anti-virus will then notice that the file got infected, and will notify you. Which might look like it was downloaded with the trojan. Trojan can hide themselves with registery entries making itself completly invisible to windows, only some anti-virus will find them out

Well i did some looking around and "Norton file insight" which simply alerts you to certain aspects of a file, would quite obviously detect anything that i exported because it meets the criteria of certain "unsafe" requirements, like being very new, obviously if i JUST made it its gunna be new, its also never been downloaded by anyone else so itll seem suspicious, and finally i dont know how to attach a security license which would verify the file as "safe" even though thats the number 1 way people get viruses

Honestly, norton is not a very good anti-virus, my friend figured out a lot of his viruses actually came from norton...

Well, I would download even with viruses, but my dad would say otherwise. I agree on media fire being better choice it is awesome. Well, tell me when problem is fixed.

I have the solution: Get McAfee. It doesn't disable your GE games. It even works after the 60-day trial, it just pops up some incredibly annoying windows once in a while

McAfee will take up a lot of ressource for nothing. I use Avast, it's free and it works like a charm, my computer actually runs better than when I had McAfee.

This problem has been encountered in our apalia hd beta. We've had several users complain about the virus problem and from what i can tell (not definite) its happening with the latest version of gE. Can anyone give any extra info on this problem?

I just had the same happen to me - i compiled a .ged and Norton killed it, i restored it and told Norton to omit the folder from scans, works ok now.

Some Anti Virus programs will react this way, its just a false positive (or in a rare case your file actually did get infected).

I would recommend anyone thats releasing their final version of their game to consider uploading it to the usual Anti-Virus sites so they can see it is a clean file and how it behaves, the signatures will be released in their updates,
in the meantime just omit your GE folder from scans in your Anti-Virus software.

On the subject of Trojans i recommend a free download of Malware Bytes - i find its an excellent program for a free one and it finds many viruses other programs (including expensive ones) dont even see.
