Website creator programs...

Postby AltruismIsDead » Fri Feb 17, 2012 4:45 am

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, and I know that there are other websites/forums about designing and creating websites, but I was wondering if anyone here has there own website/domain/hosting service.

And if so, what web design program(s) do you use? Or what you think are some of the best programs out there?

Right now I am using Rapid Weaver, which is alright, but it has a lot of limitations, and I really dislike using pre-made/and not customizable friendly web themes. While it is a decent and easy program to use, it seems like you have to purchase a lot of different add-ons to get the most out of it.

I had a trail version of Adobe Dream Weaver, unfortunately to me it has a pretty steep learning curve. I remember years back using Microsoft Front Page 98, which was an awesome, user friendly program, but either they discontinued making it, or I just can't find it?

I am just wondering if anyone has some good recommendations for web design software? Or if you use Rapid Weaver, if you know of any good add-ons for it?

Anyways apologies once again for posting this topic in the Game-Editor forums, also if anyone has some websites they wanted to post and what programs they used to make them please post!

You can try using page breeze. But honestly, I would recommend learning html and doing the whole thing yourself. That's what I'm trying to do right now :D

If you just want a basic web page you could use godaddy. It's not very good but for basic website it's fine. I used it and it worked for me. If you want something really crazy you need to learn HTML . This is my site. GreenPleco.com

Well I used to know HTML, but a lot of the advanced stuff I'd like to do would be hard to do without some type of plug-ins, or advanced type of HTML programming.

Right now I've been using Rapid Weaver which is alright, but I am wondering if anyone knows of an HTML code that allows a picture to be displayed in the background (not as in a BG picture) but an image where you can overlay text and links on it?

Right now I was working on:

http://vooblie.altgc.com for the game I was working on, and then my other site http://www.altgc.com
