A little lesson of Slovak language :). Enjoy.

Battlestar is a name of the ship so I suggest it shouldn't be translate to other languages, but if it was, it would be something like "Bojova hviezda".
Fate == "osud"
Galactic == "galakticky"
Commonwealth == "spolocenstvo"

Battlestar: Fate of the Galactic Commonwealth ==
Battlestar: Osud galaktickeho spolocenstva.

That game looks really good. ==
Ta hra vyzera naozaj dobre.

Never say never, man.

I've been programming games and stuff since I was 9 and working on a TRS-80 Model III, if you even know what that is.

I've also been a Star Trek fan ever since my dad took me to my first movie, Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

That should give you a little background on the what and why.

If anything, I hope it gives everyone here a chance to imagine bigger and better and know that you don't need hardcore programming skills since Game Editor Pro gives you so much ability to just concentrate on your imagination.

LOL, Game_a_Gogo you won't get very far withou scripting. I recommend you to find up some C tutorials on the internet and get at least the basic idea of programming.

btw, BeyoundTheTech, have I mention the BattleStar looks great? I probably have, but I will say it again: the game looks GREAT!

Wow, you programmed for one of those machines?
Cool. I remember playing a few games on something similar where text was used to substitute for graphics.
Dude! The price jumped from $700 base model to the $2500 super model.
Why does that seem similar to these days? :)

Just to give a heads up, it looks like I'm going to keep the progress meter at 75% since I wanted to add a few more things to the to-do list before its release.

As willg101 also reported here, I'm having some issues with all the objects moving towards a black hole, which would make for an interesting battle.

I'm redoing the enemy AI as well. Even though the battles are tough as it is, they could be smarter, and I would also want to make sure they would learn to avoid the asteroids, black holes, and suns.

Also, I've decided to also re-texturize the ship for a more detailed look, as well, as finalize the cutscenes.

Speaking of which, the cutscenes make the game a WHOLE lot bigger. Each 15 second animation with music a whopping 4-5MB at 240x160, so I'm thinking of making the cutscene as an add-on for PocketPC users who have the SD memory card space to spare. I only wished that some sort of movie playback would be possible in GE, since I know for sure I would be able to cut down on the size. The game module alone with only a handful of the recorded voiceovers is already 12MB. That will likely rule out the possibility of the game being stored anywhere than an external storage card.

Lastly, I want to make this game compatible with the HW6500 series Pocket PCs, with the square 240x240 displays. Since GE won't allow export of a PocketPC version if the view resolution size is not 240x320 or 320x240, I'm wondering if the game will run anyway with just the screen being cut off at a certain size. If so, I can simply export normally at 240x320 and make a console-less screen or modified console screen to adapt the 240x240 resolution.

Voiceovers is nearly finalized with over 90 different WAV files at 8KHz, 16-bit mono. When it's truly finalized, I will list the phrases here and hopefully get enough people to help out and translate and upload their own voiceovers in their languages.

I have 112 voice phrases! Aack! Oh well, it's good to have variety anyway.

I have someone willing to redo the voices in Chinese, so this will be interesting.

Lastly, my game got some exposure on PocketPC Thoughts website today!

I made a nice "plug" for Makslane and his Game Editor software, too! ;)

I hate to do this, but after taking a short hiatus and thinking a lot of improvements over the past few weeks, and considering different Pocket PC types (640x480, 240x240), I've decided to do my fourth rewrite of the entire project.

It's not a MAJOR setback, since I've been taking the best of the best in my scripts and methods, while coming up with new ideas and concepts to handle the game interface and gameplay.

I have many of the graphics that will be used, and I also will be changing some around.

I have also opened up my web portal at http://www.beyondthetech.com. Please join my FORUMS there for further discussion on this project, and to assist, become a beta tester, etc.

Remember, I'm still looking for real contextual translators (not machine translators) for voice and text, and I put up my introductory text as the first post. I'd like to see if people can reply with different translations in different languages, just to anticipate what it will look like.

See you there!
