Landscape Mode on mobile

Postby akr » Tue Mar 02, 2010 3:13 pm

Dear Makslane,

I am thinking to port game-editor to a new mobile device. Can u pls lemme know if landscape mode is also possible?

Means applications can run in portrait and landscape mode.

When portrait mode is standard, the engine has to rotate all screen output by 90 degrees.

Pls lemme know if this is possible. Its an important requirement.

Thx

You need to define if the game is landscape or portrait.

Ok you can only pick 1 resolution not both modes. You can make 2 versions of same game in different modes then let the player pick which mode he wants.

For example, if the device has a 240x320 resolution, you will set the resolution of your game for:

Portrait: 240x320
Landscape: 320x240

Makslane, thanks for your quick reply.

If resolution is changed as you descirbed. Is screen output then rotated by 90 degrees by your engine?

Thx

320x480 portrait iphone or 480x320 iphone landscape is interresting. So If your games can be adjusted they are iphone ready. See the iphone tread in the Game Editor Development section.
