my main song for my first game is 43mb.... and i need it smaller. what can i do to get it smaller but game editor can still use it?

Use a different format completely, a MOD, XM or IT track can be as small as a few Kb and last for minutes. They also provide a better and consistent* sound than Midi. WAV files are often huge, especially for long music tracks. I use WAV files for sound effects only, and even then if you load them up in a sound editor you’ll be able to remove a lot of dead sound space making the file size vastly smaller.

* How good Midi playback sounds is usually dependant on the sound hardware it is being played back with.

ogg is also very handy.
consumes about as much memory as mp3.
