problem with notebook

i have since 2 days a notebook,
an want install GE.
i can start it , but i see only the Border of a new Window,
no Black Screen with a brown Grid. And no Menu.

Or is there a reason to config the graphiccard?
On my PC it run very well!!

No, no Errorr Message.
For a few seconds i got the normal
GE Screen.

if i start GE , and go on an Icon in the Task line (i dont now the
english word for Taskleiste) then appears then normal GE Screen.
It don't run , like on my PC.
If i want to add a actor then i must go again on an Icon.
It's the same by giving the Actor name e.g. I tipp an A
then i go down to the Taskline on any Icon.

I hope that will help to find the bug.

It's sounds like the system only update the screen when receive a paint message. I will try reproduce this bug here.

or is it a reason that my firewall make this?
But i have the same Firewall on my PC, and there it is running.

Hi Makslane,
i've found the problem with my Notebook.
It is the hardwarespeedup (i hope it is the right word in german
we call it "hardware beschleunigung")
if i turn it off ge runs.

is there a reason that you can change this ?

Where you configure this feature?
In the Windows Control Panel?

It is not easy for me to write this in english because,
my windows is set to german.

But will try it.

right click on the desktop,
the last item in the pulldown menu
in german it calles "eigenschaften"

then the last tab in think it will call "setup" in english.
click on the Button "extended"
on the next page is a tab "Troubleshooting" or so
click it , an there is a propgadget where i can adjust
hardware speedup.
And this I set very low.
I hope this will help.

Problem fixed!!!
The Notebook is new , but it was not the
newest grafik card driver installed.

I have update it , and now it runs.
