How does anim8or work?

Postby lilmuleman214 » Tue Aug 14, 2007 5:31 pm

http://www.anim8or.com

I saw this program, and it looks very useful for certain things I wanted to do, but I have no clue how to use the program.
Can someone please explain to me how it works?

Ah, Anim8or... my favorite program on my entire machine. :D

There's also a manual for it in the form of a PDF file on the site. I hope that helps also.

I use this program all the time, so if you have any specific questions on how to use it, you're welcome to ask me if you like! (I'm not super good, but I'm learning some very good techniques.) :)

Here's two pics on some stuff I've made:

Wow Jay, you are very good with it!
I use it to do 3d models for Orbiter space flight simulator:

Your favorite! what about game editor xD good stuff tho i wish i was good like that. anyway lilmuleman, to get used to the program you should mess around with a simple box, and start makeing the face extrude and stuff and you might make something cool, i made a robot once, and i made porygon2 the pokemon thing.

GE doesn't lag far behind, trust me.

EDIT: Oh, and thank you for all your compliments. :)

And don't worry about how good you do with the program at the start, I STUNK when I first started using it, too. For example, here's my first render:

Like arcreamer and Caaz said, just fiddle around with the controls and all the options and see what they do. You'll get better and better when you know what you can do with what everything does.

I am open to anyone that needs to know anything about it, also.

Thanks. I actually never rendered an 3d image. I just use Anim8r to export 3ds files so that I can turn them into mesh which is used to other program.

I just found out about anim8tor a couple weeks ago, but all I have perfected is pots and apples (which I mentioned sounded really strange in another post). But I'm stuck on texturing, the tutorials kind of... well all I can say is they stink. They are way to complicated and frustrating, but at least I know how to do a couple of things. :) As you can see, my avatar is made from anim8tor. :D

I could tell. :)

It took me quite a while to learn how to texture. :( When I first discovered how to do it.... I nearly jumped out of my chair and screamed. (Well, maybe not. :P )

What exactly are you stuck on?
