Game Editor is Slow?

Postby linkshards » Sat May 01, 2010 6:53 am

Like when moving the cursor and typing script, gameEditor is ridiculously slow.
It doesn't keep up with my keystrokes nor my mouse movement.

Anyone else get this? Is there a way I can fix this or perhaps adjust settings?

Yessir, I use Windows 7 OS.
The computer I use is an AlienWare computer, practically brand new. I'd view my specs right nao, but I have a technician over fixing the sound port. >_<
It's a Quad Processor with a hefty graphics card, I know that for sure.

&& What is Aero? :o What should I do?

Game editor currently has issues with windows 7, best thing would be get VirtualBox and install a virtual windows XP that can be ran from the desktop, then run GE in that.

Or use windows 7's Virtual Windows XP, click the start button and search for "Windows XP" you'll get a virtual windows xp on the desktkop :D

Nothing's wrong with using GE on Windows 7. It's just a bit slow. That's all. I tried changing the priority of it to realtime and it still is pretty slow. :(

I know, it's not your computer and it's not the processing it has to do with game editors code, it does it with all computers on windows 7.

Try this:

go to where you keep GE,
right click on GE,
choose "properties" from the menu,
when the dialog box pops up, click on the "Compatibility" tab,
click the "Run in Compatibility mode" check-box,
select "Windows xp" from the menu(the menu that just became available),
click on the "ok" button,
try GE again.

but yes it really should. it works with all other software that gets screwey in vista (i cant spell :) )

[OFF TOPIC]
