1D exist, but it cannot be expressed in image. Because the line should be invisble as it would not contain height. So it's data only pretty much. Like an array

1D is like old computers that can only express text with no images. Right to left movement only.
Free windows mobile games like doodle jump and super mario bros

You can use a visible line in a context where it's defined that it can have values only in x-axis. Like 0D that can be drawn as a point and of course the point is just a geometrical model. Now, someone make a 11 dimensional game.

More or less dimensions just mean more or less information!
You just can't think of a way to express the extra information, even though we all already do it!
Story can be another dimension, like the time, the sound or whatever that is information (Pretty much everything is to our brain when you think of how it works).
But yes, these extra dimensions are not directly visual aspect :P

I know a game that is sort of 1d. Here: http://www.kongregate.com/games/EvilDog/z-rox. It's really quite ingenious when you think about the concept.

Yeah, games can be made with just a line that is 1 pixel in height. Such as a rhythm game where you have to press arrows to make a pixel change colour, so it can match the colour of other pixels.
Current projects:
Techno-Tank Arena: on hold
Techno-Tank SuperPortal (working title): 0.1%
Bowels of Galaxies: 35% (was a bit too optimistic)
